Serena Kothari's Digital Portfolio

     Hello, My name is Serena Kothari. I am going to be a senior next year at Garnet Valley. In school, my favorite subjects are math and science. Throughout high school, I have always had a love for learning and hope to continue learning in college and graduate school. I have a strong interest in both medical and science-related fields; however, I am still not definitively sure what profession I want to go into. Through my Career Development class in school, I have become more knowledgeable in what passions, values, and what jobs and careers fit those interests. I believe that once I start college and get more experience in science and in medicine, I will make a decision on how I want to spend the rest of my life.

     Life is made up of experiences and experiences make-up the person. One of my most defining characteristic(which I believe is a skill) is my determination. From an early age, I learned that everything in life is worked for and very little is given. As a kid, I would devote 2 hours a day to practicing math and another 2 hours on English in order to both keep up with my peers and go above and beyond with my education. Later in life, I started to experience painful acne in which no topical cream or doctor advise could remediate. About three years ago, I started a no artificial sugar diet and have been sugar-free since then to help control my acne due to the sole determination of not wanting to give up or suffer from my acne. 

      As more experiences come with time, I hope to complete some of my long-term goals. After undergraduate school, I hope to be able to attend a graduate school for my respective major and profession. I hope to excel in graduate school so that I can immediately start working or obtain more knowledge.
